Комплекс целенаправленных научных, организационно-правовых и сервисных мероприятий для застрахованных в каждом отдельном случае болезни, позволяющих добиться экономии денежных средств больничных касс.
Типичные стратегии: интеграция страхования и оказания медицинских услуг, выбор производителей медицинских услуг, внедрение структуры первичной врачебной помощи и директив медицинского обслуживания, комплексная оплата услуг, система поощрения производителей услуг (врачей) за экономичные методы работы.
Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) являются типичными организациями Managed Care в США.
